We were looking for a product in Orklas collection that had a classic style and design, and also had room for improvement. We decided to go with Felix ketchup, which is easily recognizable by its traditional shape, material, and overall look. It seemed like a fun challenge to take on! The problems with the current packaging include food waste, materials, and logistics. Our new construction is made of fairly thin cardboard (240 gsm) and is inspired by a bellow with a pumping action and small nozzle. Benefits of our new design include: • Eco-friendly materials: We replaced plastic with cardboard, making it more sustainable. •Easy recycling: The construction is designed to naturally collapse, making it easy to recycle without needing to cut it open and flatten it. •Reduced food waste: Our new design allows for every last drop of ketchup to be easily dispensed, preventing food waste. •Optimized construction: The triangular shape of the packaging is optimized for transport and takes up less space in the fridge as the ketchup is used up. •Clear messaging: We have included text in the design that strengthens Felix's commitment to fighting food waste and inspiring consumers to reflect on their own actions. So there you have it! A new and improved ketchup package that's better for the environment, easier to use, and most of all reduces food waste.
