Design team/copyright: Juho Johannes Kruskopf, Arttu Kuisma and Nikolo Kerimov, Institute of Design, Lahti (Finland)

«This design can change the business.»

OneEighty

Jury’s comments: “This entry has huge business potential. It can be used for all kinds of product families, and can replace very big volumes of non-recyclable materials. The use of material is thoughtful, and the functionality and aesthetics of the texture make sense. Not revolutionary, but simple, OneEighty stands out as a production-ready design with extremely wide range of possible end use applications.”

Name for entry:
“a-Drop”
Category 2: Primary package for a liquid beauty care product (lotion)
Design team/copyright: Chie Miyajima, Kohei Kanomata and Sayoko Kojima, Tama Art University, Tokyo (Japan)

«This concept is truly innovative.»

a-Drop

Jury’s comments: “”a-Drop” is a display of genius, which incorporates amazing use of raw material with an elegant solution and a very simple construction. “a-Drop” is something different – one can tell that the team of designers have really started from the material itself and developed it to top quality in craftsmanship and presentation.”

Name for entry:
Lustre
Category 3: Primary package for any other cosmetics, beauty or health care product
Designer/copyright: Esko Pyyluoma, Institute of Design, Lahti (Finland)

«Opening it is an experience itself.»

Lustre

Jury’s comments: “Lustre is absolutely beautiful. The aesthetics are elegant and delicate. It looks equally stunning both inside and outside. The opening mechanism is an experience in itself and creates exciting drama to the product inside, which it promotes and protects.”

Name for entry:
Diamond
Honorary mention in Recreate Packaging 2012.
Design team/copyright: Carolin Boström, Broby Grafiska, Sweden

«The design has a very strong idea and language.»

Diamond

Jury’s comments: “Diamond has a very strong character. Its form, construction and use of material is really good. It’s a board package that does not look like it is made of board. The shape and its lightness, the whole combination is amazing.”
